TOWN RESIDENCE
CLIENT
A couple with seven children and 15 grandchildren.
BRIEF
To redesign a home that could cater for large family gatherings, to create a sense of belonging, connection and interest.
DESIGN
“We took inspiration from the garden, and the Carrara and Nero Marquina marbles in the entrance. From here we formed a layered interior that celebrates grand proportions without being too formal, and designed a space that is rich in colour, pattern and a sense of heritage,” explains Amy Spargo, Design Director.
“Panelling was introduced throughout, and we removed carpet to make way for herringbone parquetry. Kitchens and bathrooms were replaced, and a conservatory constructed to connect the kitchen, family and dining room”.
A NOTE FROM THE CLIENT
"We were very specific in our brief that we wanted to restore, not renovate. Amy’s input on the finer points of design shone through where it mattered most."
